We are an active Sailing organization providing the opportunity to develop and sharpen your skills in a casual racing environment. Races for this season begin May 15th. The twelve race series is divided into 6 spring and 6 fall regattas. Competition takes place in two fleets. "A" fleet is the more competitive fleet and the "B" fleet is geared more for the novice. Scoring is based on the PHRF handicap, which takes into consideration the performance differences between boats. Races take place on a predetermined course around Esopus Island, which are typically about 3 miles long. Our Commodore will announce the winners of each Fleet 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the annual "Belvedere Cup" Award's ceremony and Banquet.
In addition to racing competitively, we get together during the season for cruises, parties, and participate in open Regattas with our neighboring clubs. We sponsor the annual "Save The Esopus Lighthouse Regatta". If you are interested in joining our club, the annual dues are $30 and $10 for each spring and fall racing series, which we use to cover the cost of Regatta Insurance, USSA membership and other necessary items to operate the club.
Membership
Membership is open to all persons and not restricted to Norrie Point Marina slip users. Members may hold office by election or appointment when necessary.
